Homelessness

Mission and Vision

The Homelessness Ministry at Encounter Church exists to break the cycle of
homelessness by providing support, resources, and hope to those experiencing housing insecurity, as a tangible expression of God's love. The vision of the ministry is for every individual to have access to safe and stable housing.

Why Fight Homelessness?

In King County, nearly 12,000 individuals experience homelessness everyday. Families with children make up a significant portion of the homeless population in Washington state, with an estimated 3,500 families experiencing homelessness on any given night. Housing security is a fundamental need and everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home.

We believe that every human being is created in the image of God and is deserving of dignity and respect. By fighting homelessness, we are working towards a more just and equitable society and affirming the inherent value and worth of every individual.
